We bought Abi a pair of sketchers that have little flashing lights in them when she walks. Oh yes only when she walks folks not for crawling! You see she can walk.... I have counted 20 steps in a row with no problems... she occasionally forgets she likes to crawl or walk on her knees and ends up walking from the couch around the kitchen counter and over to me for a leg hug. Oh yes she can walk but for some unknown reason she doesn't always feel like doing it so!.... sketchers with flashing lights for walkers seem to be just the trick.
Now picture the scene. We are in the Lonestar with Cathy and Gordon enjoying the finest Fajitas this side of Mexico. Abi is sick of being in her chair and wants to go for a wander (can't blame her she sat the for an hour and a half before the urge to wander came upon her) and so we put on the new flashing shoes. Abi loves to show people her shoes (yes. she's a girl!) but didn't seem to notice the flashing lights right away. We wandered together be holding her hand so she wouldn't get knocked down by a waiter of something and she didn't see the technicolor flashing until she went to show Cathy her shoes. She lifted each foot separately to show Cathy and as they made contact with the floor they flashed brightly. Oh the glee! The pure wonder of it all!!! As soon as she realized that she was making them flash by taking steps she broke out into the cutest tap dancing, stomping, jumping frenzy you ever did see! She was thrilled. I wish I had the video camera for that moment, it was priceless.
Do they make those flashing sketchers for grown ups?

You have no idea how desperate I am for some. They don't seem to do them for adults though. gutted
