off to Australia....

Well hello there!

Most of this post will be told in pictures. Partially for the torture effect and partially because it’s faster then writing! So we boarded a plane at 2 pm on Monday and arrived at 7 am on Wednesday. We took the advice of the very smart Sarah Dalley and stayed awake until the last leg of the trip and then slept the last 8 hours before landing in Sydney!

Things of note on the trip.....

  • The lounge in Hawaii that we sat in watching 24 looks like a regular airport lounge but furnished by value village! Quite funny really!

  • When you land in Sydney they spray the interior of plane with pesticides while you are still inside!

  • I am running out of Sudoku puzzles at an alarming rate (Thanks to staying up for the first 13 hours of the journey)

  • Australia is beautiful (at least what we have seen of it) it is kind of like England meets the tropics... just lovely.

  • The people are really friendly as well and the food is great! We spent Wednesday trying to see as much of Sydney as possible in one day which translates to: 9 hours of walking, one zoo visit, one harbour boat cruise, and some lovely Malaysian food!

And now the pictures you have all been waiting for!

So we checked into the hotel and this was the view from the window..... let's just say we never wondered what time it was!

And this was the view into the all glass bathroom.... pretty cool!

The boat cruise was good fun. you see the whole harbour in an hour unless you get off somehwere to check it out. Here is my gorgeous man with the Opera house behind him.

Next off to the zoo! We had a ride in a gondola type thing into the zoo at the top and then work your way back down to the exit at the water. We saw some mighty fine animals having fun in the sun but more animals then not were sleeping with is a tad boring to watch!

Lastly this is the view from the zoo before we headed back to the city for dinner and then bed.

Fab photos - like Alyn's chic jacketed look for the Opera House, very appropriate!

Your bathroom here will also be see-through (if you leave the door open while you shower)

xx
