Man-Flu

Since Alyn's cousins posted a remarkably enlightening post about Alyn's current condition a few month's ago when Nick was "suffering" from it here is Jenny's Professional Opinion (she is a doctor folks) of this curious ailment....

Man-Flu

"young man in his 20s - 40s. runny nose, cough, sore throat and other vague symtoms. tends to cause much subjective pain and discomfort. sufferer increasingly complains in female presense.

  • examination: subjective:pain+++ complaining+++ dying+++

  • objective: normal

  • vitals: normal

  • systems: normal

  • investigations: the rugby test:will stay in bed moaning until mention of rugby game on TV upon which will always find it in him to overcome subjective symptoms.

  • management: is a self limiting illness but may happen any number of times within one man's life."

While Nick oh I mean the un-named "Man- Flu" host in above excerpt seems to be soothed by rugby. My patient seems to need cuddles, lots of internet access, un-told amounts of attention to his whining, food whenever asked for, chocolate if possible (and as much as possible) and the Lord only knows what else! Yep, he is suffering alright... just not as much as I AM!!!! :-)
